Eat at Jimmy's restaurant( an American restaurant) with friends

Today we eat different kinds of pizzas, such as The Basic, The American, Philly Pizza, Xinjiang Pizza and Hawaiian Pizza, and we drink cokes. Today is the 30th of November, 2008. Jimmy's restaurant is #158 Han Zhong Rd. People who attend today are 16 students from school Marketing Club and our teachers Mrs. Bartell and Mr. Gallinelli .We meet at the restaurant on 12:00am.
When I see so many delicious food, I feel so hungry,and then I want to taste all of them and know some cultures of America. I'm so thankful to Mr. Gallinelli invite us. After eating, I like the food very much. Because the taste of all the pizzas taste very delicious and authentic 正宗, I like the jam on the pizzas very well ,and also there is too much cheese on them. I find it exciting that I never eat so many different kinds of pizzas at one time, the tastes of them are all good and we can chat with our friends during the time.
We usually eat some meet and vegetables in the plates ,are not put together on the same food. We usually don't eat much coast food and cheese. We usually use chopsticks and scoops instead of forks and knives to eat. When we eat, we can chat with others ,but in America it's better to chat after the meal. The environment of the restaurant is perfect. People in the restaurant are pleasant, so the atmosphere is good. The service is perfect, too. Waiters all smile at us. There are other some foreign customers in it. They eat and chat with their native friends, they order many food on the table. Some of them watch basketball matches on the TV. They seem so excited.
I love the food very much. I love this experience very much,

Having dinner Tacos with Grade 12 students（Cultural Awareness)

Today I only eat a cheese pizza, because I ate much for lunch and I can't eat too much food at dinner. Today is 20th December.2008. Tacos is at LianHuaQiao, opposite Mcdonald, on the third floor.
I ride there by myself. When I arrive there, I see almost in Tacos are getting ready to eat dinner. I arrive there at 5:40pm.We chose this restaurant, because this restaurant has a big room that can admit 23 students in it, and it is not far away from our school. In addition, the food in it is delicious. It’s at LianHuaQiao, opposite Mcdonald, on the third floor.
When I see so many delicious food on the guide, I feel so

excited and a little bit hungry, and then I want to taste all of them and know some cultures in Western countries. I call my mom and tell her I will eat delicious food. After eating, I like the food very much. Because the taste of all the p

izzas taste very delicious and authentic, I like the jam on the pizzas very well, and also there is too much cheese on them.

The environment of the restaurant is ok, because I hate the smoke in the air. Maybe I will feel headache. People in the restaurant are pleasant, so the atmosphere is good. There are other some Chinese couples, some families, people with their friends in it, and also, there’re few foreign customers in it. Waiters and service are good, but sometimes we must wait for a long time for our food, maybe there’re many people in it and they are very busy. I only remember a little about other people there. I remember our classmates there. We play and chat, we take photos with our friends.
I will remember this experience. I love it.

Art and Design (visit" Wu Weishan Cultural Figures Sculpture Gallery" exhibition

Today, we are visiting an exhibition called: “Wu Weishan Cultural Figures Sculpture Gallery.” There're many different sculptures in this exhibition. All the sculptures in the exhibition are made by one famous artist, Wu Weishan, another product outside the exhibit made by Xing Binging. What a great artist! The artworks are traditional and contemporary. The sculpture like Lao Zi, Kong Zi and many characters in old eras are traditional. The sculpture like the famous physical scientist Yang Zhenning is contemporary. The number of sculptures is about sixty. I love them very much.
The sculpture is about three metres tall. It’s an old famous ideologist Lao Zi. The artist shows an old man who bends his waist, the man had a long mustache, he had few teeth, and he wore a long robe. Lao Zi was very emaciated instead of ideologist in western culture are muscularity. His two arms are held in front of his abdomen, his left hand holds out one finger towards the sky. His eyes seemed to slouch and ask questions at the same time. The main attractive thing of this artwork is that inside it from Lao Zi’s neck to feet all are empty. Tourists can walk into his “stomach” and take photos in it. There is also famous document called Tao Te Ching carried in it. Tourist can read it on the abdomen of Lao Zi. Wu Weishan used shapes like circles, cubes, cones, cylinders, rectangles and bars in it. He used lines like line shapes, ribbon pattern straight lines in this product. The color of it is all grey. The subject of it is the image of an old Chinese ideologist.
When I see this sculpture, I see a gentle old ideologist Lao Zi. I feel harmony when I see the gentle man. When I see the sculpture is about three metres tall. I admire Wu Weishan very much. I think I need to follow him that if I want to get successful at something, I must have enough patience and do it until it’s finished, otherwise, I will not finish and I will give up. When I see the gentle man, I think of his main allegation that “kindness is the highest ideal state of people”. Kindness is like water because water is also very clear, it’s not dirty and everybody can see it. So it reminded me of when I left my school and I entered a new school. I missed my old friends very much and I thought my new classmates were worse than my old friends. So I almost wasn't friendly to them and they didn't think I’m a gentle, easy-going person. After months, I understood that I needed to be accommodating and be kind to them, and then I treated them as my old friends. At last, we became friends forever. This artwork told us to be kind and insist doing things, doesn't give up.
Inside the art work is empty. (Hollow) represent can admit anything, represents people have broad bosom can forgive other’s mistakes; can contain things around the world. Using hollow on Lao Zi, it also represent though Lao Zi is encyclopedic knowledge, he didn't show off, he is modest. I think that if we success at something. we can’t show off, we will do better and put efforts in working. In addition, we need to forgive others’ mistakes, Such as in grade 7, we had a project and needed to group, I grouped it excluding my friend Wang Lu because she copied my homework yesterday. She cried and she wanted to be in our group. At last, I forgave her and she was in our group. I think the artist’s intention is let us follow him that we need to be kind to everybody, we need to insist on doing our task, we need to forgive other people and have a broad bosom. Those can make us be good people.
In general, I like the artwork very much. The artwork is about 3 meters tall, it’s very great and people can enter the artwork and take photos with the sculpture Lao Zip. When I see it first time, I can recognize the person Wu Weismann sculptured is Lao Zip and this is very similar to Lao Zip. Because face was aged and had many furrows on it. He had also dense and crooked eye brows. He had long mustache. Many other people might appreciate the artwork. Because they all have seen the real photo of Lao Zi and when they this sculpture, they think it’s very similar to the image of Lao Zi. But I look photos of the back of this artwork, it’s not very good-looking. I don’t know it’s an elder’s back. So I think artist need to cave more carefully about the back of the product.
I like the intentions of this artwork. When you see the product, you can understand many things. Such as the sculpture of Lao Zi seemed very kind, though he was encyclopedic knowledge, he seemed to be modest, he didn't show off. Inside the work is empty, that means the need to admit anything, people need to have broad bosom to forgive other’s mistakes. Other people will think so because his document Tao Te Ching's main idea is people must have broad bosom and to be kind.
This artwork is great and can let us know many principles to be a good person. I love it.

Visiting Artist speech

Today is the 1st of December.All the students from GCA are going to visit an artist’s speech about Su Zhong Garden on the top of the Reading Building .
The famous artist Mr.Zhao studies about Su Zhong Garden.So.today he talks about the gardens and art.
The Chinese old word”garden” includes four parts.Each part of the word has its own meaning that connected with the structions of garden.It’s amazing.There were the meanings of
1. the wall outside,it means that gardens between each other full boubdary line
2. the circle means gardens have many ponds
3. the another part like”v”means there’re many trees in the garden
4. the part “+” means there’re many changes to the places in gardens .
The meanings of the garden is plot of ground where plants are cultivated.
The Su Zhong Garden must follow the styles of science and art.There’re many main styles of gardens in it is:royal gardens, private gardens and temple gardens .
SuZhong Gardens also can be called “SuZhong classical garden”,it means that a peaceful and the gardens can make you relax and enjoyable.

I love it beacause it is a calm place in the noisy city now.If you visit there ,you will enjoy the grand mountains ,clear water.claasify constuctions and you will love the peaceful and quiet place I enjoy the re-creation of the splendors of natural scenery through the processes of the decoration of land by planting trees,shrubs and flowers,and designing and materializing mountains and watercourses.I enjoy an epitome of exquisite and multifarious buildings of old times in the south of the Lower Yangtze .
